We are really loving all the space! Believe it or not but we moved everything from our house in St. Paul into this townhouse and it actually fits! We even have some empty spots in our living room for more furniture...yippee! :) I'll do a complete home tour in the next post but here are some exterior pics to get you a sneak peek! :)
This is a picture of our entire unit from the courtyard. You can see there are three levels and we have a porch on the second level! We love it up there. You can't tell now because the sun already shifted but in the mornings the sun is directly on our porch and I love eating breakfast out there soaking it up! :)
Below is a picture of the courtyard in front of our unit. We can let L dog out there to do his thing and not worry about him running into the street. It is a horseshoe with units all around on all sides. Ours is towards the back and to the left. We wish we had our own yard but this definitely beats the uptown apartment with no yard. :)
Now on to the fun stuff! Two weekends ago we were invited by our friends, the Aplins, to the PBR, no no not the beer, the Profession Bull Riding Competition. Apparently this was the championship and it was a really big deal! It was held at the Cowboys Stadium which is ginormous and we had a blast. It was so Texan and super fun to actually see the "cowboy" part of Texas, because honestly in Dallas you don't see it. We tailgated on the actual tailgate of a Ford pickup truck and then walked over to see the competition. Western boots, flannels, fringe, and the best cowboy hats were EVERYWHERE and we totally stuck out the a sore thumb. We even tried with some of our own flannel but it didn't cut it. :) Bull riding is intense and I can imagine for the bull too. I was surprised to see them all calm and chilin out until their turn. Each bull was ridden one time from 2-8 seconds then they are put back in their gate. Job done. I just wish they didn't make the bulls pissed with that rope.
The next day we also went to the Dallas Arboretum! We were excited to go on such a warm beautiful day! It was about 82 degrees on that Sunday and we couldn't have been happier to spend it outside. In Dallas they can plant pansies throughout the whole winter because they only get a few below freezing days. But the TULIPS bloomed! To me tulips mean spring, sunshine, and happiness. :) Love them! I hope all you Minnesotans can feel hope from these pictures that Spring will come soon for you too! :)
Lots of love,
Andy, Betsy, and Lincoln :)
